Hi the paddles are the 4 corners in the drum that helps the machine to was the clothes

idk what the "paddles" are that you mention. I have had numerous machines in all sort of makes over 25 years of housekeeping, and this is the first i’ve heard of said drum mishap. Maybe you could edit to explain?

They should last a lot longer than 13 months. If you re in the UK, then it has been ruled that shops/manufacturer’s cannot hide behind the guarantee period in the event of faults, just days out of guarantee.

It is not unreasonable of you to expect a washing machine to last more than 13 months and quite clearly a fault from when the machine was built.

I would write to the shop rejecting the machine as unfit for purpose under the Sale of Goods Act 1978 and threatening them with a claim in the County Court if they don’t repair the machine at their cost/ or give you your money back.

Try the link at the bottom for further advice on this type of problem and information on which washing machines are worth buying and which ones are best avoided.
