i am want a kayak what is a good kind to buy just to go out and paddle around in. what is the prices range?

depends (of course). Prijon makes a nice one. Touring kayaks are in the 1K to 2.5K range. White Water boats are slightly less. I suggest you buy used because there is a lot of other equipment to buy..helmet, life vest, paddle, float bags, knife, and spray skirt. good luck. great sport.

    You can pick up a used sit on top kayak for $500 or less. The sit on tops are user friendly for beginners. There are lots of brands but I think Hobie makes the best ones.
